Kosheen launches new range

2 December 2009

Melbourne footwear company Kosheen will showcase a new collection of mid-market price pointed shoes targeting a younger, on-trend market at the upcoming AUSTRALIAN SHOE FAIR. Kosheen designer Pia D'Angelo confirmed the new line, comprising around 60 styles designed by Kosheen and manufactured in China, would be branded "She".

"The range will still be branded KOSHEEN but the SHE will be highlighted in the Kosheen logo. Compared to the standard Kosheen range [pictured], which is largely produced in Brazil and retails for $220 to $240, the She range will carry price points under $200."

This season had also seen the expanding company beginning to advertise, she confirmed.

"Grazia magazine is showcasing quite a few of our summer 2009 shoes, which will be featured until late December."

Kosheen was launched five years ago by D'Angelo and partner Michael Kouranis to wholesale mid to high end ladies footwear throughout Australia and New Zealand.

"We have built a strong customer base to over 50 stores Australia wide and we are renowned for our Brazilian styling and manufacturing," D'Angelo said.

The company planned to use its presence at the AUSTRALIAN SHOE FAIR to drive sales to the New Zealand market, where it recently appointed a new agent.

D'Angelo's background is in design and product development and includes stints designing for Christopher Chronis Designs and Jag Junior before taking up a position as account manager and product developer for Sportsgirl from 2000.

"When we first started in 2004 Michael and I saw a need for good quality ladies shoes at affordable prices. Back then there was a lack of ladies Brazilian footwear being imported by Australian companies, so we decided to fill this gap."
